Parliamentary Procedure – Republican Style Videos Now Online

  • Video Presentation by Louis “Butch” Davis with PowerPoint and downloadable Cheat Sheet
  • Butch is an extraordinary Parliamentarian. He is the one we all work to send to the Republican National Convention because of his expertise and his conservatism!
  • Butch is also the one who alerted everyone to the machinations of Romney’s campaign to control the delegates the States elect to go to the RNC so we could mitigate the worst of it in Tampa.

Lou “Butch” Davis gave us a fine introduction to the Parliamentary Procedure used by the Republican Party at its conventions. Kingwood TEA Party requested him to teach the class because of the large number of new Patriots attending the State Convention in June who had no idea what to expect. He was gracious enough to allow me to record his presentation so those who could not attend could view the class before going to State.

For those of you who don’t know Butch, here are a few of his qualifications:

  • State party parliamentarian for the Republican Party of Texas
  • Former Senate District Chairman for 6 years
  • Member of State Rules Committee for 4 state conventions
  • Attended all state conventions except 2 since 1980.

Parliamentary Procedures – Republican Style is, of course, also valuable for those who want to get involved in their local political process in March 2010.

Butch has kindly provided us with a Cheatsheet to take with from the SREC, as well as his PowerPoint that I have saved as a .pdf so you can follow along as you watch the video. (Click on links to open or save a copy.)

Thank you, Butch!!!

VIDEOS: Bill White Town Hall of 5/3/10

Ray Jenkins of DGW, Doing Good Works, Inc. has put 9 videos of our Bill White Town Hall up at . (You can also click on MORE below to find the videos in order for your convenience.)

If you watch it and find a section we might like to highlight as a separate clip, please note which video, and the time of that section: ie. climate change, raising taxes to pay off debt, etc.

We are trying to ask the politicians questions which reveal their underlying belief system that informs the policies they champion. We do not want to just attack politicians we disagree with, or they would never come and allow us to get to know them and their beliefs.

You have to listen closely sometimes, as politicians these days like to be whoever voters want them to be, instead of statesman who are willing to let the people see who they are and let them choose. (Think NJ Governor here!) Mr. White did share some of his beliefs with us that evening, several of which are contrary to ours.

If you hear one of these revealing moments in the videos, please add a comment below noting which video, and the time that it took place, as well as the topic. We would like to put together some clips highlighting our differences (or real instances of agreement) between ur TEA Party ideals, and Mr. White’s philosophy and vision for Texas.

As always we’d like to thank Lone Star College-Kingwood for letting us use their facilities for our Town Hall with Mr. White, and Kevin Price, Houston radio host of The Price of Business (Monday at 7:00 AM on CNN 650) publisher of the Houston Business Review for the wonderful job he did moderating our discussion. We did have a number of people who attended the town Hall who handed in questions. Some of the questions Mr. Price reads are from the audience, as well as from the TEA Party.

Gubernatorial Town Hall with Bill White: Mon., 5/3/10, Lone Star College–Kingwood, 7 pm Come Early

Kingwood TEA Party Gubernatorial Town Hall with Bill White
Lone Star College-Kingwood campus on Monday at 7 pm
Bldg. A, Teaching Theatre, CLA 114. Use Parking Lot C. Click for Campus Map. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Come early to guarantee seating: Seating is limited to first 190 attendees.

Former Houston Mayor, Gubernatorial candidate Bill White has agreed to come to Kingwood to share his vision for Texas.

He certainly sounds like a good conservative, yet:

  • he kept intact policies which made Houston a “Sanctuary City” even if he wouldn’t  call it by that name,
  • maintained unsustainable defined benefit plans for enough city employees to run through Houston’s former budget surplus,
  • supports Pres. Obama’s ruinous, not to mention unconstitutional Health Care Law, etc.

We will maintain a polite tone in our discussion with Mr. White, but we need to bring good sharp, SPECIFIC questions that will clarify Mr. White’s true beliefs that will inform his policy choices if elected so we can make an informed choice next November. Good Patriots, please come armed with your good questions and concerns so we can have a meaningful discussion with Gubernatorial candidate, Bill White.

Over 15,000 Texas Patriots came out for the North Houston “Take America Back NOW!” Tax Day Tea Party at Sam Houston Race Park on Thursday, April 15, 2010! Far from the Houston Chron rag’s estimate of 6,000. It was much larger, at least a third larger) than the November, 2009 Tea Party at the same location. KWTP Eyewitness/attendees: Jim &  Robin Lennon, Eric & Mason Zuleger, Karalee Lance, Kaydene Jordan, Larry Lane, and hopefully many more.
