Next Meeting, Mon., 7/18/11: Meet Senatorial Candidate Ted Cruz
The first candidate in Kingwood TEA Party’s Senatorial Candidates series is Ted Cruz (TX Solicitor General for 5-1/2 years). He will be joining us on Monday, July 18th at Los Cucos [MAP].
Who: Senatorial Candidate Ted Cruz
When: Monday, 7/18/11, 7 pm
Come early (6:15 pm or so) and dine with us.
Where: Los Cucos-Kingwood [MAP]
Ted will speak for about 20 minutes, and will then take questions from the Tea Party and audience. It should be a full crowd, so please plan to RSVP and come early.
Who is Ted Cruz?
The answer is that he is an exciting young conservative candidate and we are including several links so you can find out for yourself. We are not endorsing Ted, but after listening to all the candidates who will come to Kingwood, the KWTP will vote on a candidate to endorse, and if we have a majority consensus we hope to endorse a candidate and work together to elect a true conservative to represent us in the U.S. Senate.
Ted is a truly committed candidate. After reading the 2009 National Review article last February we called Mr. Cruz’s campaign manager on Super Bowl Sunday to set up a meeting with Ted and the TX Tea Party Caucus Advisory Committee and their leadership boards in Austin on the following Sunday.
On very short notice, Ted left Washington DC the next Sunday and flew to Austin to meet with us and the 40 Tea Party leaders that we brought together on short notice.
Mr. Cruz has since received endorsements from prominent conservatives from around the country including Club for Growth PAC, FreedomWorks PAC, Tea Party advocate U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, RedState.com editor Erick Erickson, President of the Liberty Institute Kelly Shackelford, President of WallBuilders David Barton, and conservative radio powerhouse Mark Levin. Listen to Mr. Levin’s recent interview with Ted at The Right Scoop .
NEXT MEETING: KWTP Meeting:
Monday, 8/15/11: TX Sen. Dan Patrick will join us to discuss the ups and downs of this last TX legislative session
Please read the attached articles and listen to Mark Levin’s interview; then email me back at Jim@KingwoodTEAParty.com – I’d love to hear what your think.
