Relief Effort Update

A huge Texas THANK YOU to all our area Texans who donated to help our friends in Joplin as well as to driver Greg Tolleson who donated his time and the use of his semi and trailer to transport the loaded 48′ trailer to Joplin yesterday.

We’ve concluded our donation drive. Thanks for your generosity.

We will be filling one more trailer because of the generosity of our Houston area residents and businesses. If we have any goods remaining after the second truck heads to Joplin, we will donate the items to fellow Texans who lost everything in the Texas wildfires.

Numerous Houston area Tea Parties organized in support of the people in Joplin, MO, who have lost everything due to tornadoes in their area. Too often thought of as a political organization, Tea Parties are many separate gatherings of ordinary citizens who believe in the freedom and responsibility of the individual, who naturally wanted to reach out to fellow Americans in Joplin. What began as a Houston Area Tea Party Effort quickly grew apace into a heartwarming indication of the generosity of Texans and Americans to those in need. Houstonians participated in donating time, money, and supplies to Joplin. Efforts included hundreds of hours collecting, sorting, packing and shipping a semi tractor trailer full of requested supplies to Joplin Saturday, June 4th.

Greg Tolleson, Baytown, who donated his time and rig, and John Faulk who rode with him reported on the immense devastation, but soaring can-do morale of those in Joplin who were VERY pleased to receive our donated goods. Pictures are being posted on various sites including TX Sen. Dan Patrick’s Facebook page, FaulkForCongress, Greg Tolleson’s FaceBook page and page.

The following Tea Parties and communities were instrumental in making this huge task possible:

King Street Patriots, Fort Bend Tea Party, Texas Tea Party Patriots PAC, Katy Tea, Kingwood TEA Party, Wharton Tea Party, Sugar Land Tea Party, & Organizing for America in cooperation with all the folks in the Houston area including Baytown, The Woodlands, Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, Houston 912 Groups and Wharton!

All gave generously to help our Joplin neighbors, as well as area businesses whose generous support in time, collection locations, and donations helped fill our truck to overflowing!

Many Thanks to Our Sponsors:
