11:30 am: State Representative Senfronia Thompson (State Representative for District 141, Northeast Houston and Humble) will host franchise tax information luncheon at the Humble Area Chamber.  Cost is $10.  RSVP by 12 noon October 2, contact Humble Area Chamber of Commerce at 281-319-8907. Also with her will be a representative from the State Comptroller’s Office to help explain the changes made to the franchise tax during the 81st Legislative Session that commenced in June.

Kingwood TEA Party General Meeting with Tracey Miller (SLJ took phone call during Tracey’s question) and Bernard Navarro, Cuban emigree who lived through turn to socialism in Cuba before emigrating with family. Dan Huberty, President of the Humble HISD School Board, will be in attendance.We’ll also be turning the mike over to several of our members in the audience for some OPEN MIKE time!

7 – 8:30 pm: Super Neighborhood Council and Lone Star College-Kingwood to Host Houston Mayoral Candidate Forum , Bldg. A, Teaching Theatre, CLA 114. Use Parking Lot C. Click for Campus Map. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Refreshments available.

The forum will begin at 7 p.m. Cynthia Calvert, owner and publisher of the Kingwood Tribune, will moderate. Each candidate will have a chance to introduce themselves and express their priorities and positions. Candidates will then answer questions posed by members of the community and Super Neighborhood Council. The public may also submit questions ahead of time by emailing questions@kingwoodsnc.com .

All of our Kingwood TEA Party Society members and friends are strongly encouraged to attend.

11:30 am: Texas Senator Tommy Williams will give a briefing of the 81st Legislative Session to the Humble Area Chamber at Kingwood Country Club.  RSVP Humble Area Chamber of Commerce at 281-319-8907 by 12 pm October 9.  Cost is $20 for chamber members $25 for non members.

6:30 pm: Council Member Mike Sullivan and City of Houston departments Town Hall meeting at Creekwood Middle School, 3603 Lake Houston Parkway. After brief remarks, Council Member Sullivan will open up the floor to the audience for questions/comments directed either to him or the appropriate City of Houston department. 11:30 am – 2 pm: PROTEST: Against the dereliction of duty of our Lame Stream Media. Part of a nationwide protest, the Houston media targets include the following: Houston Chronicle, 801 Texas Avenue; Channel 2  (NBC), 8181 Southwest Freeway; Channel 11 (CBS), 1945 Allen Parkway; Channel 13 (ABC), 3310 Bissonnet. We will vote on the target we’d like the KW TEA Party Society to  focus on, if any.
