House committee to probe recess appointments – The Hill’s On The Money.

Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) announced Monday that on Feb. 15, his committee will explore the constitutionality of the president’s move, accusing him of wrenching the Constitution out of shape and setting a “dangerous precedent” for future administrations. ~snip~

Obama used his recess appointment powers to put in place Richard Cordray as the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as well as three members of the National Labor Relations Board. Cordray’s pick had already been block by a filibuster once in the Senate, and the NLRB nominees were expected to face fierce GOP opposition as well. ~snip~

The president’s move is already being challenged in court, as the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a motion challenging the legality of the move. Other business groups have suggested more court challenges questioning the legitimacy of the move could be forthcoming. ~snip~

The White House defended the moves, calling them a necessary step to allow those agencies to be fully up and running. Under the Dodd-Frank financial reform law that created the CFPB, the agency cannot fully realize its powers without a director, and NLRB membership had fallen below the quorum needed for it to function.

She protested for women’s rights and against the Iranian regime.

The result of these gifts is that, as local farmers cannot compete with free food, their farms fail, and any chance of self sustainability vanishes. It’s the whole notion of “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day… Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” In the case of Africa the world’s aid (and food is only part of that problem) is destroying the capacity of the recipients to become self sustaining, resulting in a vicious circle of aid, corruption and poverty.”

The Kingwood Tea Party will be hosting Congressman Ted Poe at a special gathering on Thursday, January 12’th at 7pm at Los Cucos.

Congressman Poe will update us on the ongoing fight in Washington between Constitutionally Limited government and the metastasizing Democrat Dictatorship that is swallowing up our inalienable rights, one after another.

If you are concerned about our irresponsible America-phobic President, the spending, the debt, and our eroding rights, please plan on attending.  Congressman Poe is also one of the few elected officials that understands the dreadful danger on the Texas – Mexico border and has been taking concrete action to help our law enforcement officials. The pedal hits the medal this April (primary) and November. We need everyone’s help to get ready.

This is your chance to let Congressman Poe know what you think of his standing up for constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, and capitalistic free markets on a daily basis, as our Representative in Washington.
